“Swordfish” did you mean: irish vol. 2

“irsh started as a video series where we decided to film ourselves jamming with our friends in a home studio environment. Shortly after we started the series, the Covid-19 Pandemic hit and gatherings became prohibited; we couldn’t invite people to the studio anymore and were forced to put the series on hold. So we decided to put together a compilation of music by some of the people who had played the series and other friends of ours, in which became ‘did you mean: irish vol. 1’ released on September 25, 2020.

Since then, we’ve made lots of new friends with young, up and coming producers and DJs from the local scene; enough that we felt like a second compilation was in order.

This one features debuts from Egyptian artists Ashrar, Assyouti, Islam Elnabawi and Seleem, and the premiere pairing of Yaseen with Palestinian rapper Dakn, while ABADIR’s instrumental grime track ‘Kabbut’ calls upon ZULI and 3Phaz for extra production. ‘did you mean: irish vol. 2’ follows in the footsteps of vol I by exploring the territory between music made for the dancefloor, and music made for listening.

Expect trance, breaks, lo-fi beat science, and hard club tracks from KIK’s Ismael, Lebanese Electronic music veteran Liliane Chlela, multidisciplinary artist Omar El Sadek under his Qow moniker, up and comer Postdrone, as well as Egyptian artists ltfll, 1127 and El Kontessa who return to the series with new sounds showcasing their eclecticism. The compilation also includes the audio from an A/V collaboration between 0N4B (a project by ABADIR and Onsy) and multi disciplinary artist Castell Lanko called "Cybernetic Emptiness" “
